About

We believe in Riesling.

Why?

1-20150108_094106

1. Riesling tastes better than any other white wine in the world. (Trust us on that. Or better yet, take wine professional Stuart Pigott’s word for it.)

2. You can serve Riesling with any meal, except maybe pizza (and with that, we always choose beer).

3. Some of the best Rieslings in the world come from the Finger Lakes. (Really?? Really.)

* * *

Yes, these and other stars aligned to pull us in 2008 toward making Riesling in the Finger Lakes.

But why not leave the task of making Riesling to the experts?

Why purchase 120 acres of bare farmland in Lodi, NY in and plant vines?

You are 54 years old. How much time do you have left?

Can’t you drink and enjoy Riesling without having to make it?

* * *

Yes, of course, you can.

And like many long-term decisions, we made this one under conditions that, in retrospect, look fleeting.

Still no regrets.

This was our global headquarters when we arrived in 2008.  (We make the best decisions we can at the time with the information we have.)

Top 100 Wines of 2014 - WE

In 2014 Wine Enthusiast Magazine named our Dry Riesling to its list of Top 100 Wines in the World.

Wow.

I guess every dog has its day.

(Ours came sooner than most.)

Others will make this same list in the future. Other great Rieslings from the Finger Lakes will, as they should.

Why?

Because, some of the world’s greatest Rieslings come from the Finger Lakes.

And each year at Boundary Breaks, we will grow the best Riesling fruit and make the best possible Riesling wine.

And why?

Because, we believe in Riesling.
